The campaign begins today with the unveiling of a series of off-beat videos featuring Hollywood stars Sean Penn, Justin Timberlake, Bradley Cooper and others.

The news from India’s 2011 census is almost all heartening. Literacy is up; life expectancy is up; family size is stabilizing. But there is one grim exception. In 2011 India counted only 914 girls aged six and under for every 1,000 boys. Read the entire article in the Economist HERE.

Monday News: Freedom Sunday

Posted on Mar 14, 2011 | 15 COMMENTS
Yesterday, March 13, was Freedom Sunday.
2,383 churches partnered with Not For Sale, a “Campaign of justice seekers united to fight the global slave trade and end human trafficking,” to watch a Freedom Sunday broadcast (see here, HERE.).
Together, they participated in a global effort to end the slavery of men, women, and children as they themselves gave up their time and comfort as they went hungry for the day and donated the money they would have spent on food to Not For Sale. All funds went to “investigate human trafficking and create new futures for survivors of human trafficking.”

Do you want to take action yourself?
You can participate in your own “Freedom Sunday” and go hungry for a day, then donate the money to an organization fighting for justice, such as Not For Sale and International Princess Project.
Also, wear PUNJAMMIES, wear hope. Help IPP bring that hope and a voice to those who have none in India. See our newest styles, VISIT HERE.
