Glimpse Inside a Mumbai Brothel
This interesting article is about teachers conducting census work in Kamanthipura, the largest concentrated red-light district in the world, located in Mumbai, India.
After finding the brothels “scary to enter with no light or ventilation,” the teachers enlisted the help of Bombay Teen Challenge. “The NGO Bombay Teen Challenge, that works in the area, helped us interact with them and speak with them in their language, some of them were Nepali.”
This article gives a real-life look into the conditions of the brothels the women in India live in. One of the teachers said, “We had to climb two or three floors in dark narrow stairwells to reach the women living there... it was still scary to enter places with no light or ventilation.”
